Deacon Thomas D. Ellison, Jr. entered, into eternal peace on Sunday February 12, 2023. Thomas was born on October 07, 1949, to the late Vennie B Harmon and Thomas D Ellison Sr in Newberry, SC. He was the oldest of eight siblings and he also have three brothers, on his father’s side.
Thomas was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and URI College. He served in the United States Army and following his release, served in the Army Reserves. He was later employed by OIC, Koch Industries, GECC Corporation, and over 22+ years at Hasbro Toy Company, as General Distribution Manager until his retirement.
Thomas was ordained as a Deacon of St James Baptist Church in Woonsocket, RI on October 19,1997. As of January 28, 2020, he became Deacon Emeritus and served in many roles/duties as a Missionary of SJBC.
Deacon Ellison enjoyed/loved spending time with his family and friends, near and far. He just inspired the hearts and souls of so many people, with that beautiful, priceless, and welcoming smile. He enjoyed singing, dancing, bowling, shopping, and traveling.
Thomas is survived by his devoted and loving wife Linda , two daughters Rhamanya K. and Nesha N. Perry of Providence RI. Eight siblings: Dennis Harmon and Lora Harmon of Woonsocket RI, Mark and Tony Harmon of Providence RI, Sylvester Harmon and Elizabeth Gifford of N. Providence RI, Michelle Harmon of Charlotte NC. Also, three brothers: Michael Ellison (Michelle) of Tennessee, Anthony, and Edward Ellison plus his Aunt Frances Eggleston of NJ, one brother-in-law Daniel Travares (Carol) of RI, two godchildren, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memories. He is preceded in death by his sister Joann Harmon Allen and his grandson Tyshon Courtney Perry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, February 22nd from 9:00 - 11:00am at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by Home-Going Celebration at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
